Only one and a half hours by boat away, Lahami Bay Beach Resort is the nearest resort to the famous Sataya Reef Dolphin House, excellent for snorkelling and diving with its dolphin population. Sataya Reef is one of the numerous reefs of the Fury Shoal group, which features the world class diving highlights of the South Red Sea. Before the opening of Lahami Bay, these sites were reachable only by means of live-aboard safari boats on lengthy trips.

Diving with our Extra Divers Diving Center

Departing from the resort’s private marina, the fleet of diving boats of our SSI certified Extra Divers diving center Lahami Bay can reach in 10 to 90 minutes over 40 pristine dive sites. Among these dive sites are the renown Fury Shoal reefs of Hamam, Abu Galawa, Maksour, Claudio, Sataya, as well as several shipwrecks. New dive sites are being continuously discovered in the surrounding mostly uncharted waters of the South Red Sea. The diving centre is operated by highly trained and certified staff. Top quality standards are employed regarding organisation, equipment and operational procedures. The diving centre is known for its solid level of professionalism and lively international atmosphere. Diving Courses according to SSI qualifications are available, in addition to Nitrox Diving. Courses for children aged 8 years and above are also available.

Snorkelling at the Lahami Bay House Reef

The Lahami Bay House Reef is in itself an underwater destination, with its spectacular corals and exotic marine life, especially its resident turtle population and the dugong family which frequently comes to feed on the seagrass growing on the bottom of the southern part of the bay. Wide bay formations with sandy bottoms gently slope into the crystal-clear waters, leading to countless coral barriers, patches and pillars inhabited by fishes of all forms and colours at various depths. This gradual depth access offers unlimited possibilities for easy and safe snorkelling for all ages, either directly from the beach, or by means of designated small house reef boats.
